Printing the system configuration list

The system configuration list is a printed record of your system contents.
You will find this list useful when you recover from a disaster or evaluate
the results of a major system change.

To print the system configuration list:

You must configure Service Tools user IDs before starting SST. For more information about how to configure a user ID, refer to configure
service tools user IDs.

Start System Service Tools (SST) by typing the start system service tools (STRSST) command and pressing Enter at an i5/OS command line.

Select the Hardware Service Manager option.

Use the Print function key on the Hardware Service Manager display to
request a printout. The Print Format Options display appears. You can sort
the information by location or by logical address.

Notes:

The logical address sort and location sort are available only in 132-character width.

To collect more details about the information about the system configuration
list, you can select the Print function key from a display other than the
Hardware Service Manager display. If you select the Print function key from a display other than the Hardware
Service Manager display, the system prints only the information that appears
on the display.

Use the last page of the printout (the legend) to help you interpret the
information.

The logical hardware and the packaging hardware have unique resource names.

Your system configuration list prints on the printer that you specified.

See Print system configuration for logical paritions, if you are printing a configuration list from your primary parition or secondary partition.
