<div class="section">You may have a need to know what the latest levels are of cumulative

||
|
PTF packages, Licensed Internal Code PTFs, or HIPER PTFs. The cumulative PTF
|
||
|
package level of your system refers to the latest cumulative PTF package installed
|
||
|
on your servers.</div>

<div><div class="section">To display the cumulative PTF package level of your server, do the

||
|
following steps from <span class="keyword">iSeries™ Navigator</span>:</div>
|
||
|
<ol><li><span>Expand <span class="uicontrol">Management Central</span>.</span></li>
|
||
|
<li><span>Expand <span class="uicontrol">Endpoint Systems</span>.</span></li>
|
||
|
<li><span>Right-click the endpoint system, select <span class="uicontrol">Properties</span>,
|
||
|
and then click the <span class="uicontrol">Details</span> tab.</span></li>
|
||

</ol>

<div><div class="section"><p>To determine your current cumulative PTF package level, do one
|
||
|
of the following:</p>
|
||
|
<dl><dt class="dlterm">Display cumulative PTF group</dt>
|
||
|
<dd>Use the Work with PTF Groups (WRKPTFGRP) command or view the fix group
|
||
|
inventory for the system with <span class="keyword">iSeries Navigator</span>.
|
||
|
Find the PTF group that is named <span><img src="./delta.gif" alt="Start of change" />SF99540<img src="./deltaend.gif" alt="End of change" /></span>. The status of
|
||
|
the PTF group indicates if all the PTFs in the cumulative PTF package are
|
||
|
installed on your system. The level of the PTF group identifies the level
|
||
|
of the cumulative PTF package. For example, if the level is 4178, your cumulative
|
||
|
PTF package ID is <span><img src="./delta.gif" alt="Start of change" />C4178540 (540 is added to the end of the
|
||
|
package ID to indicate version 5 release 4 modification level 0<img src="./deltaend.gif" alt="End of change" /></span>). The
|
||
|
level of the cumulative package ID indicates the release date of the package
|
||
|
using the Julian calendar. Specify WRKPTFGRP <span><img src="./delta.gif" alt="Start of change" />SF99540,<img src="./deltaend.gif" alt="End of change" /></span> and
|
||
|
type option 8 (Display special handling PTFs). The date shown may be later
|
||
|
than the release date of the package in the Level field if the special handling
|
||
|
PTF section has changed. This date may be referred to from the PSP information
|
||
|
when installing your cumulative PTF package.</dd>
|
||
|
<dt class="dlterm">Display cumulative marker PTFs</dt>
|
||
|
<dd>To display cumulative marker PTFs, do one of the following:<ul><li>For the cumulative PTF package level, type the following from the character-based
|
||
|
interface: <pre>DSPPTF LICPGM(5722SS1)</pre>
|
||
|
</li>
|
||
|
<li>For the Licensed Internal Code PTFs level, type the following: <pre>DSPPTF 5722999</pre>
|
||
|
</li>
|
||
|
</ul>
|
||
|
</dd>
|
||
|

|
<p>The PTF ID column on the Display PTF Status display lists
|
||
|
the identifiers for all of the cumulative PTF packages installed on your system.
|
||
|
Cumulative PTF package identifiers start with the letter T.</p>
|
||
|
<p><img src="./delta.gif" alt="Start of change" />If
|
||
|
you are using version 5 release 4 modification 0 and you have PTF TC04178
|
||
|
installed on your system, your cumulative fix package level is C4178540 (540
|
||
|
is added to the end of the package ID to indicate version 5 release 4 modification
|
||
|
Level 0). The last four digits of the cumulative package ID indicate the release
|
||
|
date of the package, using the Julian calendar. The latest level of the cumulative
|
||
|
PTF package is the one where the last four digits are the highest.<img src="./deltaend.gif" alt="End of change" /></p>

<div class="note"><span class="notetitle">Note:</span> Fix
|
||
|
IDs that start with the letters TC indicate that the entire cumulative PTF
|
||
|
package has been applied. Fix IDs that start with the letters TA indicate
|
||
|
that the HIPER fixes and HIPER Licensed Internal Code fixes have been applied.
|
||
|
Fix IDs that start with the letters TL indicate that the HIPER Licensed Internal
|
||
|
Code fixes have been applied.<p><img src="./delta.gif" alt="Start of change" />Usually the numbers
|
||
|
for the corresponding TC, TA, and TL fix IDs are all the same for each release.
|
||
|
For V5R3, however, the TL numbers for <span class="keyword">Licensed Internal Code</span> might
|
||
|
differ from the TC and TA numbers. For example, V5R3M0 has the marker TC04178.
|
||
|
The Licensed Internal Code HIPER marker, however, is TL04178 for V5R3M0 and
|
||
|
TL54178 for V5R3M5.<img src="./deltaend.gif" alt="End of change" /></p>

<div><div class="section">To print or display the summary of fixes contained in a cumulative
|
||
|
PTF package on CD-ROM, do the following:</div>
|
||
|
<ol><li class="stepexpand"><span>Load the cumulative PTF package CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive.</span></li>
|
||
|
<li class="stepexpand"><span>On any command line, type:</span> <pre>LODPTF LICPGM(5722999) DEV(OPTYY) SELECT(*ALL)
|
||
|
PATHID(*FIRST) COVER(*ONLY)</pre>
|
||
|
<p>where YY is the unit ID for
|
||
|
the CD-ROM drive in which you loaded the PTF CD-ROM. For information about
|
||
|
printing the cumulative fix package summary, see <a href="rzam8fixcoverdisplayprint.htm">Display and print fix cover letters</a>.

||
|
A copy of the PTF summary is put into file QAPZCOVER in Library QGPL.</p>

|
||

<div><div class="section"><p>When you use the Display PTF (DSPPTF) command, you see information
|
||
|
associated with the service partition:</p>
|
||
|
<ul><li>When the partition is the service partition, the IPL source field on the
|
||
|
display shows the side on which the last server IPL was performed for the
|
||
|
server firmware code (##SERV#T or ##SERV#P).</li>
|
||
|
<li><img src="./delta.gif" alt="Start of change" />When PTFs are applied for the server firmware portion of the
|
||
|
Licensed Internal Code but are not active, you see statuses that indicate
|
||
|
a server IPL is required to complete the operation. To view the status descriptions
|
||
|
for your fixes, see <a href="rzam8fixstatuscmd.htm">Fix status descriptions using the command interface</a>.<img src="./deltaend.gif" alt="End of change" /></li>
|
||
|
<li>When the server firmware that is currently active is at a later level
|
||
|
than the server firmware portion of the Licensed Internal Code that is installed
|
||
|
on the system, message CPD35F9 is shown.</li>
|
||
|
<li><img src="./delta.gif" alt="Start of change" />When the installed level of the server firmware portion of
|
||
|
the Licensed Internal Code has changed, message CPD35F8 indicates that a server
|
||
|
IPL is required.<img src="./deltaend.gif" alt="End of change" /></li>
|
||
|
<li>When the server firmware that is currently active is at a different level
|
||
|
than the server firmware portion of the Licensed Internal Code that is installed
|
||
|
on the system but changes are not allowed from the service partition, message
|
||
|
CPD35FA is shown.</li>
|
||
|
<li>Option 5 (Display PTF details) contains a field that indicates whether
|
||
|
or not the PTF requires a server IPL (Server IPL required). The value shown
|
||
|
indicates from which side the IPL needs to be performed to activate the changes.
|
||
|
If no server IPL is pending, the value is None.</li>
|
||
|
</ul>

<p>When you specify DSPPTF SELECT(*ACTRQD), you see all the PTFs that
|
||
|
have required actions pending, including the PTFs that require you to perform
|
||
|
a server IPL.</p>
