<div><p>When you eject a cartridge, you remove it from the tape library
|
||
|
|
inventory.</p>
|
||
|
|
<div class="section"><p>All tape library devices use iSeries™ Navigator to eject cartridges.
|
||
|
|
You can also use the Remove Tape Cartridge (RMVTAPCTG) to change media to
|
||
|
|
the *EJECT category.</p>
|
||
|
|
<p>When you eject a cartridge you can eject it to
|
||
|
|
one of three locations:</p>
|
||
|
|
<ul><li>Tape library default</li>
|
||
|
|
<li>Convenience station</li>
|
||
|
|
<li>High capacity output station</li>
|
||
|
|
</ul>
|
||
|
|

<p>To eject tapes
|
||
|
|
from a tape library, use one of the following procedures:</p>
|
||
|
|
<p>Specify tapes
|
||
|
|
to eject by category or cartridge ID</p>
|
||
|
|

are in the convenience (*CNV) category are exported when they are unloaded
|
||
|
|
from a tape resource for a tape command that is using ENDOPT(*UNLOAD). If

||
|
|
a cartridge in the *CNV category is unloaded from a tape resource by the system
|
||
|
|
to load another cartridge the cartridge that was in the tape resource will
|
||
|
|
not be ejected from the tape library.</div>
