<div class="section"><h4 class="sectiontitle">Configure a server to start when TCP/IP starts</h4><p>To
|
||
|
|
configure a server to start when TCP/IP starts, follow these steps:</p>
|
||
|
|
<ol><li>In iSeries Navigator,
|
||
|
|
expand your <span class="menucascade"><span class="uicontrol">iSeries server</span> > <span class="uicontrol">Network</span></span>.</li>
|
||
|
|
<li>Right-click <span class="uicontrol">TCP/IP Configuration</span> and select <span class="uicontrol">Properties</span>.</li>
|
||
|
|
<li>On the <span class="uicontrol">Servers to Start</span> page, select the servers
|
||
|
|
you want to automatically start when TCP/IP starts.</li>
|
||
|
|
</ol>

<div class="section"><h4 class="sectiontitle">Start a server manually</h4><p>To manually start a server,
|
||
|
|
follow these steps:</p>
|
||
|
|
<ol><li>In iSeries Navigator,
|
||
|
|
expand your <span class="menucascade"><span class="uicontrol">iSeries server</span> > <span class="uicontrol"> Network</span> > <span class="uicontrol"> Servers</span></span>.</li>
|
||
|
|
<li>Click <span class="uicontrol">TCP/IP</span>, <span class="uicontrol">iSeries Access</span>, <span class="uicontrol">DNS</span>,
|
||
|
|
or <span class="uicontrol">User-Defined</span>, depending on the type of server you
|
||
|
|
want to start.</li>
|
||
|
|
<li>In the right pane, right-click the server you want to start, and select <span class="uicontrol">Start</span>.</li>
|
||
|
|
</ol>
|
||
|
|
<p>Some servers cannot be started from iSeries Navigator. Servers that are required
|
||
|
|
to run iSeries Navigator,
|
||
|
|
such as the remote command server, signon server, server mapper, and database
|
||
|
|
server, must be started from the character-based interface.</p>
|
||
|
