<div><p>Whenever you have two policies that overlap, the physical order
of your policies in iSeries™ Navigator is important.</p>
<div class="section"><p>Overlapping policies are two policies that use the same client,
application, schedule, local IP address, Uniform Resource Identifier (URI),
server data, codepoint or protocol. The policies on the iSeries Navigator
screen are in an ordered list. Policy precedence depends on the order of the
policies in this list. If you want one policy to take priority over another,
the higher priority policy must appear in the list first.</p>
<p>To determine
if a policy overlaps with another policy, follow these instructions:</p>

<ol><li><span>In iSeries Navigator,
expand your server <span class="menucascade"><span class="uicontrol"></span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol">Network</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol">IP Policies</span></span>.</span></li>
<li><span>Right-click <span class="uicontrol">Quality of Service</span>.</span></li>
<li><span>Select <span class="uicontrol">Configuration</span>.</span></li>
<li><span>Select the specific Policies folder.</span></li>
<li><span>Right-click the name of the policy that has associated overlapping
policies. Overlapping policies have an icon in front of them to indicate the
overlap.</span></li>
<li><span>Select <span class="uicontrol">Show Overlap</span>. The Policy Overlap
window appears.</span></li>
</ol>
<div class="section"><p>To change policy order on the panel, use the following steps:</p>
<ul><li>Highlight the policy and use the up and down arrows on the window to change
policy order.</li>
<li>Right-click the policy name and select <span class="uicontrol">Move up</span> or <span class="uicontrol">Move
down</span>.</li>
<li>Update the quality of service (QoS) server. You can use the <span class="uicontrol">Update
server</span> button on the toolbar or see the QoS task help for more
detailed instructions.</li>
