<div><p>You can send e-mail on an iSeries™ server with a Systems Network
|
||
|
|
Architecture Distribution Services (SNADS) client program using the Send Distribution
|
||
|
|
(SNDDST) command.</p>
|
||
|
|
<div class="section"><p>The following procedure describes how to send e-mail on iSeries server
|
||
|
|
using the Send Distribution (SNDDST) command. The sender of the e-mail must
|
||
|
|
be a local SNADS user. A local SNADS user has a profile configured by a local
|
||
|
|
system distribution directory entry. For more information, see Enroll e-mail
|
||
|
|
users.</p>
|
||
|
|
<p>To send e-mail on the iSeries server, follow these steps:</p>
|
||
|
|

||

|
<ol><li><span>In the iSeries character-based interface, type <kbd class="userinput">SNDDST</kbd> and
|
||
|
|
press Enter. The Send Distribution display appears.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li><span>Press F10 to see all the parameters.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li><span>At the first prompt, <em>Information to be Sent</em>, enter <kbd class="userinput">*LMSG</kbd> and
|
||
|
|
press Enter.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li><span>Enter the recipient's user ID and server address or an Internet
|
||
|
|
address.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li><span>Enter a message description at the <em>Description</em> prompt.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li><span>Press the Page Down key and type your e-mail at the <em>Long Message</em> prompt.</span></li>
|

<li><span>Press Enter to send the e-mail.</span></li>
