<h1 class="topictitle1">Host a Domino and
SMTP server on the same iSeries server</h1>
<div><p>If you are running Domino® and Simple Mail Transfer Protocol
(SMTP) on the same iSeries™ server, it is recommended that you configure
each one to bind to a specific IP address. This topic provides the steps for
configuring the SMTP server to use a specific Internet address.</p>
<div class="section"><p>When hosting Domino and SMTP server on the same iSeries server,
you should bind each server to an IP address. Mail is then sent to users of Domino or
SMTP using the appropriate IP address and although it shares a port, the mail
is only handled by the server for which it is intended.</p>
<p>To
force the SMTP server to use a specific Internet address for iSeries servers
running OS/400® V5R1
or later or running i5/OS™ V5R3 or later, follow these steps:</p>
</div>
<ol><li class="stepexpand"><span>In iSeries Navigator,
select <span class="menucascade"><span class="uicontrol">your iSeries Server</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol">Network</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol">Servers</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol">TCP/IP</span></span>.</span></li>
<li class="stepexpand"><span>Right-click <span class="uicontrol">SMTP</span> and select <span class="uicontrol">Properties</span>.</span></li>
<li class="stepexpand"><span>Click the <span class="uicontrol">Bindings</span> tab.</span></li>
<li class="stepexpand"><span>Select the <span class="uicontrol">Use all interfaces</span> radio
button, to bind all interfaces to port 25.</span></li>
<li class="stepexpand"><span>Select the <span class="uicontrol">Select an interface</span> radio
button, to specify the client and server bound interfaces that you would like
to bind.</span> <div class="note"><span class="notetitle">Note:</span> If you want to use network address translation (NAT)
either on iSeries server
or on your firewall, you must force the iSeries SMTP client to use one specific
Internet address.</div>
</li>
<li class="stepexpand"><span>Click <span class="uicontrol">OK</span>.</span></li>
</ol>
<div class="section"><p>To force the SMTP server to use a specific Internet
