<div><p>You can receive mail on an iSeries™ server with a Systems Network
|
||
|
|
Architecture Distribution Services (SNADS) client program using the Receive
|
||
|
|
Distribution (RCVDST) command.</p>
|
||
|
|
<div class="section">To receive e-mail on iSeries server with a SNADS client program
|
||
|
|
using the Receive Distribution (RCVDST) command, follow this procedure. The
|
||
|
|
recipient of the e-mail must be a local SNADS user.</div>
|
||
|
|
<a name="rzairrecmess__v5r4_rev3"><!-- --></a><ol id="rzairrecmess__v5r4_rev3"><li><span>In the character-based interface, type <kbd class="userinput">QRYDST</kbd> (the
|

|
|
Query Distribution command) and press F4. The list of distributions appears.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li><span>Press F10 to view additional parameters.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li><span>In the <span class="uicontrol">File to Receive Output</span> field, type
|
||
|
|
file and library names that are easy to remember and press Enter. The iSeries server
|
||
|
|
creates these physical files.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li><span>Type <kbd class="userinput">WRKF</kbd> (the Work with Files command)
|
||
|
|
and press Enter. The Work with Files display appears.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li><span>Type the file name and library you specified in step 3 and press
|
||
|
|
F4.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li><span>The display lists all your distributions (e-mail). Type <kbd class="userinput">5</kbd> next
|
||
|
|
to the distribution you want to display and press Enter.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li><span>At the Display Physical File Member (DSPPFM) display
|
||
|
|
screen, press Enter.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li><span>On the next display screen, there will be a long
|
||
|
|
string of numbers for each piece of mail. Copy the seventh through twenty-sixth
|
||
|
|
characters.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li><span>Press F3 twice to exit.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li><span>Type <kbd class="userinput">RCVDST</kbd> (the Receive Distribution command)
|
||
|
|
and press Enter.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li><span>In the <span class="uicontrol">Distribution Identifier</span> field, paste
|
||
|
|
the seventh through twenty-sixth characters you copied.</span></li>

||
|

<li><span>In the <span class="uicontrol">File to receive output</span> field, enter
|
||
|
|
a new file name and the same library name you used previously and press Enter.</span></li>

<li><span>Type <kbd class="userinput">DSPPFM</kbd> (Display Physical File Member)

to display the file you just created.</span></li>

<li><span>Press F20 (Shift + F8) to scroll left and read the message or messages.</span></li>
