<div><p>Now that you have set up your network, you may need to customize
PM <span class="keyword">iSeries™</span> to fit your needs.</p>
<div class="section"><p>The Work with PM eServer™ <span class="keyword">iSeries</span> Customization
display provides you with the ability to:</p>
<p><strong>Establish global parameters
for the operation of PM <span class="keyword">iSeries</span> software</strong></p>
<p>The
global parameters allow you to customize the following items. See the online
help for a description of these fields:</p>
<ul><li>Priority limits</li>
<li>Trend and shift schedules</li>
<li>Performance data library</li>
<li>Removal specifications</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Define your PM <span class="keyword">iSeries</span> data
telephone number</strong> </p>
<p>Outside the United States and Canada, you must
provide PM <span class="keyword">iSeries</span> with the
telephone number of the IBM<sup>®</sup> location that will receive your data. For most locations,
PM <span class="keyword">iSeries</span> tries to select
the correct telephone data number for your location when you initiate the
configure PM <span class="keyword">iSeries</span> process.</p>
<p><strong>Vary
a line off and on with PM <span class="keyword">iSeries</span></strong></p>
<p>The
PM eServer <span class="keyword">iSeries</span> Line Control display allows
PM <span class="keyword">iSeries</span> to vary the line
off, transmit the PM <span class="keyword">iSeries</span> data,
and then put the line back in the connect pending state.</p>
<p>To customize
the global parameters, do the following steps:</p>

<ol><li><span>Type <span class="uicontrol">GO PM400</span> from the command line.</span></li>
<li><span>Type a 3 from the PM eServer <span class="keyword">iSeries</span> menu
to display the Work with PM eServer <span class="keyword">iSeries</span> Customization
display and press Enter.</span></li>
</ol>
<div class="section"><p>If you are using Collection Services to gather your PM <span class="keyword">iSeries</span> data, you should take into account
some data collection considerations for PM <span class="keyword">iSeries</span>.</p>

If your server is using a direct dial connection to IBM , you must
verify that the PM <span class="keyword">iSeries</span> telephone
number is correct. The telephone number must also contain the correct prefixes
for your line.</li>
<li class="ulchildlink"><strong><a href="rzahxplangrow1pmmgg1b.htm">Set a direct dial line for PM iSeries</a></strong><br />
For most locations, PM <span class="keyword">iSeries</span> tries
to select the correct data telephone number for your location.</li>
<li class="ulchildlink"><strong><a href="rzahxplangrow1pmmgg4.htm">Vary a line off and on with PM iSeries</a></strong><br />
Sometimes the line that PM <span class="keyword">iSeries</span> uses
is in the connect pending state. This state does not allow PM <span class="keyword">iSeries</span> to
access the line to transmit data.</li>
