<h1 class="topictitle1">How to copy the Japanese DBCS master sort table from a data file</h1>
<div><div class="section"><div class="p">To copy the Japanese DBCS master sort table from a data file,
follow these steps: <ol><li>Enter the CPYIGCSRT command as follows: <ol type="a"><li>Choose the value OPTION(*IN).</li>
<li>Use the FILE parameter to specify the name of the data file that contains
a migrated <span class="keyword">System/36™</span> or AS/Entry
master file or an <span class="keyword">iSeries™</span> master
table previously copied to the file using OPTION(*OUT) with the CPYIGCSRT
command. To migrate your <span class="keyword">System/36</span> or
AS/Entry master file, use the TRANSFER command with the IFORMAT parameter
on the <span class="keyword">System/36</span> or
AS/Entry to save the #KAMAST master file on diskette. Use the <span class="keyword">iSeries</span> <a href="../cl/cpyf.htm">Copy File (CPYF)</a> command
to copy the master file #KAMAST from diskette. Use the CPYIGCSRT command
as described here to copy data from the file to the <span class="keyword">iSeries</span> Japanese
DBCS master sort table.</li>
<li>Use the MBR parameter to specify the name of the data file member from
which you want to copy the master table data.</li>
</ol>
</li>
<li>Press the Enter key. Even though the information in the existing Japanese
DBCS master sort table is overridden, that table must exist before you can
use this command.</li>
<li>To update the Japanese DBCS active table to reflect the new copied information,
use the SRTXBLD procedure in the <span class="keyword">System/36</span> or
AS/Entry environment, or the STRCGU command specifying OPTION(5). This must
be done before you can use the sort utility to sort Japanese double-byte characters.</li>
</ol>
