Solve remote communication problems using STRPASTHR

When you encounter problems indicating the route to the remote location
cannot be found, you can attempt to make the connection again. Use the Start
Pass-Through (STRPASTHR) command to assist in troubleshooting. The STRPASTHR
command has built in diagnostic capabilities that exceed those that are provided
by other interfaces that utilize APPN networks. These diagnostic capabilities
include problem analysis, problem logging, and error logging functions.

When a STRPASTHR command fails to contact a remote location in an APPN
network, a record is written to the problem log. This occurs only if there
is an associated problem analysis for analyzing the data. The Work with Problems
(WRKPRB) and Analyze Problem (ANZPRB) commands enable you to examine and interpret
the log to help you isolate the problem.

When a start pass-through attempt has failed, an error log is issued. You
can use these error logs to assist in troubleshooting your communication problem.
See APPN error log data for more information.
