<h3><a name="guimngvhsts"></a>Manage virtual hosts for your application server</h3>
|
||
|
|
|
||
|
|
<p>A virtual host enables a single host machine to act as multiple hosts, allowing an administrator to independently manage resources on one physical machine. The Manage Virtual Hosts form allows you to view a list of defined virtual hosts, create a new virtual host, modify the properties of an existing virtual host, or remove a virtual host from your application server. <p>To manage your virtual hosts on an application server, follow these steps:</p>
|
||
|
|
<ol>
|
||
|
|
<li><a href="../../../rzaie/rzaiegetstarted.htm" target="_blank">Start the HTTP Server Administration interface</a>.</li>
|
||
|
|
<li>Click the <strong>Manage</strong> tab.</li>
|
||
|
|
<li>Select an application server from the <strong>Server</strong> list.</li>
|
||
|
|
<li>Expand <strong>Resource Configuration</strong>.</li>
|
||
|
|
<li>Click <strong>Manage Virtual Hosts</strong>.</li>
|
||
|
|
</ol>
|
||
|
|
|
||
|
|
<p>From the Manage Virtual Hosts form you can do the following:</p>
|
||
|
|

|
||
|
|
<li><a href="#createvh">Create a new virtual host</a></li>
|
||
|
|
<li><a href="#edtpropvh">Edit the host alias properties of existing virtual hosts</a></li>
|
||
|
|
<li><a href="#remove">Remove a virtual host</a></li>

<p><a name="createvh"></a><strong>Create a new virtual host</strong></p>
|
||
|
|
|
||
|
|
<p><strong>Note:</strong> With the exception of step 1, these steps also apply to the Create Virtual Host wizard.</p>
|
||
|

<ol>

||

|
<li>Click <strong>Create</strong>.</li>
|
||
|
|
<li>Specify the name of your virtual host in the <strong>Virtual host name</strong> field.</li>
|
||
|
|
<li>Click <strong>Next</strong>.</li>
|
||
|
|
<li>Select one these options.
|
||
|
|

<li><strong>Create a new HTTP Server (powered by Apache)</strong><br>
|
||
|
|
Select this option to create a new HTTP Server (powered by Apache) instance.
|
||
|

<li>Click <strong>Next</strong>.</li>
|
||
|
|
<li>Complete the Create a new HTTP Server (powered by Apache) form.</li>

<li>Click <strong>Next</strong>. Continue to step 5.</li>

<li><strong>Select an existing HTTP Server (powered by Apache)</strong><br>
|
||
|
|
Select this option to use an existing HTTP Server (powered by Apache) instance.

||

<li>Select one or more existing HTTP Servers (powered by Apache) from the list.</li>

<li><strong>Select an existing Domino HTTP server</strong><br>
|
||
|
|
Select this option to use an existing Domino HTTP server.

<li>Select one or more existing Domino HTTP servers from the list.</li>

<li>Click <strong>Next</strong>. Continue to step 5.</li>

<li>Select the IP access types.
|
||

<li><strong>Any host name or IP address</strong><br>
|
||
|
|
The wizard creates an IP access type from any available host name or valid IP address based on the HTTP Server (powered by Apache) or Domino HTTP server you selected. For example, http://<em>myserver:1023/</em></li>
|
||

|
<li><strong>Specific access types</strong><br>
|
||
|
|
Select one or more access types.
|
||
|
|
<ul>

||
|
|
<li>IP address - The IP access type is a valid IP address. For example, http://<em>100.99.98.1:1023</em>/</li>
|
||
|
|
<li>Host short name - The IP access type is a valid host short name. For example, http://<em>myserver</em>:<em>1023</em>/</li>
|
||
|
|
<li>Domain qualified host name - The IP access type is a valid domain qualified host name. For example, http://<em>myserver.mycompany.com:1023</em>/</li>
|

<li>Click <strong>Next</strong>.</li>
|
||
|
|
<li>The summary page lists all of the choices you have made in the wizard. If any of the information displayed is incorrect, click <strong>Back</strong> until you reach the wizard form with the incorrect information and make your corrections. Click <strong>Finish</strong> to complete the wizard.</li>

<li>Select a virtual host from the <strong>Virtual hosts</strong> table.</li>

<li>Click <strong>Properties</strong>.</li>
|
||
|
|
<li>You can edit one or more of the properties shown for the virtual host.

<li><strong>Add a host alias setting</strong><br>
|
||
|
|
To add an alias setting, follow these steps:

<li>Click <strong>Add. </strong></li>
|
||

<li>Specify an IP address or hostname.</li>
|
||
|
|
<li>Specify a port number.</li>
|
||

<li>Click <strong>Continue</strong>.</li>

<li><strong>Change the properties of a host alias setting</strong><br>
|
||
|
|
To change the properties of an alias setting, follow these steps:

<li>Select a host alias setting from the <strong> </strong>table.</li>

<li>Specify a new IP address and hostname.</li>
|
||
|
|
<li>Specify a new port number.</li>
|

||
|
|
To remove an alias setting, follow these steps:
