<div><p>After the installation of IBM<sup>®</sup> Telephone Directory V5.2, you may want
the application to use certain information from the <span class="keyword">i5/OS™</span> operating
system. For example, the operating system provides a way to publish the system
distribution directory to your LDAP directory server. Once the information
is in your LDAP server, IBM Telephone Directory V5.2 has access to it.</p>
<div class="section"><p>The operating system automatically publishes the system distribution
directory to your LDAP directory server when you use <span class="keyword">iSeries™ Navigator</span> to
change the information on <span class="keyword">i5/OS</span>.
If the parent DN where the data is being published does not exist, the LDAP
directory server automatically creates it.</p>
<div class="note"><span class="notetitle">Note:</span> These steps are not applicable
for a Domino<sup>®</sup> LDAP
server.</div>
<p>To configure your server to publish <span class="keyword">i5/OS</span> information
into your LDAP directory server, perform the following steps:</p>

<ol><li class="stepexpand"><span>In <span class="keyword">iSeries Navigator</span>, right-click
on your server name and select <span class="uicontrol">Properties</span>.</span></li>
<li class="stepexpand"><span>Click the <span class="uicontrol">Directory Services</span> tab.</span></li>
<li class="stepexpand"><span>Select <span class="uicontrol">Users</span>.</span></li>
<li class="stepexpand"><span>Click <span class="uicontrol">Details</span>.</span></li>
<li class="stepexpand"><span>Select <span class="uicontrol">Publish user information</span>.</span></li>
<li class="stepexpand"><span>Specify the <span class="uicontrol">Directory server</span> in which you
want to publish.</span></li>
<li class="stepexpand"><span>In the <span class="uicontrol">Under DN</span> field, enter the parent
distinguished name (DN) where you want information added on the directory
server.</span></li>
<li class="stepexpand"><span>Specify the <span class="uicontrol">Authentication method</span> that you
want the server to use, as well as the appropriate authentication information.</span></li>
<li class="stepexpand"><span>If your directory server does not use the default port, enter the
correct port number in the <span class="uicontrol">Port</span> field.</span></li>
<li class="stepexpand"><span>Click <span class="uicontrol">Verify</span> to ensure that the parent DN
exists on the server and that the connection information is correct.</span> If the directory path does not exist, a dialog will prompt you to create
it.</li>
<li class="stepexpand"><span>Click <span class="uicontrol">OK</span>.</span></li>
</ol>
<div class="section"><div class="note"><span class="notetitle">Note:</span> When you publish users from the system distribution directory,
there is not a password value associated with the user entry that is created.
For an entry to have a password, the IBM Telephone Directory V5.2 administrator
must update each user entry.</div>
