<div><p>If you are using an IBM-supplied time zone, you can create a new
|
||
|
|
time zone based on the supplied time zone to avoid the problem of having jobs
|
||
|
|
scheduled during the starting or ending of daylight saving time (DST).</p>
|
||
|
|
<div class="section">To create a new time zone with the proper DST values, perform the
|
||
|
|
following steps:</div>
|
||
|
|
<ol><li><span>In iSeries™ Navigator,
|
||
|
|
expand <span class="menucascade"><span class="uicontrol">My Connections</span> > <span class="uicontrol"> server-name</span> > <span class="uicontrol">Configuration and Service</span> > <span class="uicontrol">Time Management</span> > <span class="uicontrol">Time Zones</span></span>.</span></li>
|

|
|
<li><span>View the time zones listed in the <span class="uicontrol">Available time zones</span> field
|
||
|
|
and select the time zone that you want to copy.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li><span>Click <span class="uicontrol">New Based On</span>.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li><span>Specify a time zone <span class="uicontrol">Identifier</span>.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li><span>Ensure that the time zone properties on the General page are correct.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li><span>On the Daylight Saving Time page, specify the daylight saving time
|
||
|
|
start or end time. Ensure that the start or end time does not conflict with
|
||
|
|
time-sensitive programs.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li><span>After you have specified all of the time zone properties, click <span class="uicontrol">OK</span> to
|
||
|
|
create the time zone.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li><span>Select the time zone from the list of <span class="uicontrol">available time
|
||
|
|
zones</span>.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li><span>Click <span class="uicontrol">Change system value</span>.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li><span>Click <span class="uicontrol">OK</span> to confirm the system value change.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li><span>Click <span class="uicontrol">OK</span> to close the <span class="uicontrol">Time Zones</span> dialog
|
||
|
|
box.</span></li>
