<h3><A NAME="migprrq"></A>Migration prerequisites</h3>
|
||
|
|
<p>Before you migrate your old version of WebSphere Application Server, verify that you meet these requirements:</p>
|
||
|
|
|
||
|
|
<ul>

||
|
|
<li><p><strong>Minimum version of WebSphere Application Server Version 3.5.x</strong>
|
||
|
|
<BR>If you are migrating from Version 3.5.x, you must be at Version 3.5.6 or higher.
|
||
|
|
<P>To determine the current level of WebSphere Application Server installed on your system, perform these steps:</p>
|
||
|
|
<ol>
|
||
|
|
<li>Enter this command on the CL command line:
|
||
|
|
<pre>WRKLNK '/QIBM/ProdData/WebASAdv/properties/com/ibm/websphere/product.xml'</pre></li>
|
||
|
|
<li><p>Specify option 5 (Display) next to the product.xml file to view the contents. The number within the <version> tags show the current version you have installed.</p></li>
|
||
|
|

|
|
<P>If you do not meet the minimum version, obtain the latest group PTF. See <a href="http://www-1.ibm.com/servers/eserver/iseries/software/websphere/wsappserver/services/service.htm" target = "_blank">WebSphere Application Server PTFs for iSeries</a> <img src="www.gif" width="18" height="15" alt="Link outside Information Center" border="0"> for information on the correct group PTF for your i5/OS release level and WebSphere Application Server Version 3.5.x product.</p></li>

<LI><p><strong>WebSphere Application Server - Express must be installed.</strong>
|
||
|
|
<BR>Follow the instructions <A HREF="../install/install.htm">Installation</A> topic for more information. WebSphere Application Server - Express must be installed on the same iSeries server as the Version 3.5 product to be migrated.</p></li>
|
||
|
|
|
||
|
|
<LI><p><strong>*ALLOBJ authority is required.</strong>
|
||
|
|
<br>When you call the WasPreUpgrade and WasPostUpgrade migration tools, your user profile must have *ALLOBJ authority.</p></LI>
|
