<div><div class="section"><p>You want to configure the remote connections to remote workstations.

||
|
You need to set up iSeries™ A to accept inbound connections from these
|
||
|
clients. To configure a L2TP terminator profile for iSeries A, complete the following steps:</p>
|
||
|

||

<ol><li class="stepexpand"><span>In iSeries Navigator, expand <span class="menucascade"><span class="uicontrol">iSeries A</span> > <span class="uicontrol">Network</span> > <span class="uicontrol">Remote
|
||
|
Access Services</span></span>. </span></li>
|
||
|
<li class="stepexpand"><span>Right-click <span class="uicontrol">Receiver Connection Profiles</span> to
|
||
|
set the iSeries A
|
||
|
as a server that allows incoming connections from remote users , and select <span class="uicontrol">New
|
||
|
Profile</span>. </span></li>
|
||
|
<li class="stepexpand"><span><span class="uicontrol">New Point-to-Point Connection Profile Setup</span></span> <ul><li><span class="uicontrol">Protocol type: </span>PPP</li>
|
||
|
<li><span class="uicontrol">Connection type: </span>L2TP (virtual line) <div class="note"><span class="notetitle">Note:</span> The
|
||
|
Operating mode field should automatically display <span class="uicontrol">Terminator (network
|
||
|
server)</span>.</div>
|
||
|

|
||
|
<li><span class="uicontrol">Line service type:</span> Single line</li>
|
||
|
</ul>

||

<li class="stepexpand"><span>Click <span class="uicontrol">OK</span>. This will launch the New Point-to-Point
|
||
|
Profile Properties page.</span></li>
|
||
|
<li class="stepexpand"><span>On the New Point-to-Point Profile Properties page, enter <samp class="codeph">MYCOL2TP</samp> in
|
||
|
the <span class="uicontrol">Name</span> field. Click <span class="uicontrol">OK</span>.</span></li>
|
||
|
<li class="stepexpand"><span>On the Connection tab, select <span class="uicontrol">192.168.1.2</span> for
|
||
|
the <span class="uicontrol">Local tunnel endpoint IP address</span>.</span> <div class="important"><span class="importanttitle">Important:</span> IP addresses used in this scenario are meant for example
|
||
|
purposes only. They do not reflect an IP addressing scheme and should not
|
||
|
be used in any actual configuration. Use your own IP addresses when completing
|
||
|
these tasks.</div>
|
||
|

<li class="stepexpand"><span>Select <span class="uicontrol">MYCOL2TP</span> as the <span class="uicontrol">Virtual
|
||
|
line name</span>. Click <span class="uicontrol">OK</span>. This will launch the
|
||
|
New L2TP Properties page.</span></li>
|
||
|
<li class="stepexpand"><span>On the Authentication page, enter <samp class="codeph">iseriesa</samp> as
|
||
|
the host name. Click <span class="uicontrol">OK</span>. This will return you to the
|
||
|
Connection page.</span></li>
|
||
|
<li class="stepexpand"><span>On the Connection page, select the following options, enter 25
|
||
|
as the <span class="uicontrol">Maximum number of connections</span>.</span></li>
|
||
|
<li class="stepexpand"><span>On the Authentication tab, select <span class="uicontrol">Require this iSeries
|
||
|
server to verify the identity of the remote system</span>.</span></li>
|
||
|
<li class="stepexpand"><span>Select <span class="uicontrol">Authenticate locally with validation list</span>.</span></li>
|
||
|
<li class="stepexpand"><span>Enter <samp class="codeph">QL2TP</samp> in Validation list name field, enter <samp class="codeph">QL2TP</samp> and
|
||
|
click <span class="uicontrol">New</span>.</span></li>
|
||
|
<li class="stepexpand"><span>In the Validation list page, select <span class="uicontrol">Add</span>.</span></li>
|
||
|
<li class="stepexpand"><span>Add user names and passwords for each of your remote employees.
|
||
|
Click <span class="uicontrol">OK</span>. </span></li>
|
||
|
<li class="stepexpand"><span>On the Password confirmation page, re-enter the password for each
|
||
|
remote employees. Click <span class="uicontrol">OK</span>.</span></li>
|
||
|
<li class="stepexpand"><span>On the TCP/IP Setting page, select 10.1.1.1 for <span class="uicontrol">Local
|
||
|
IP address</span>.</span></li>
|
||
|
<li class="stepexpand"><span>In the <span class="uicontrol">IP address assignment method</span> field,
|
||
|
select <span class="uicontrol">Address pool</span>.</span></li>
|
||
|
<li class="stepexpand"><span>In the <span class="uicontrol">Starting IP address</span> field, enter <samp class="codeph">10.1.1.100</samp> and <samp class="codeph">49</samp> for
|
||
|
the <span class="uicontrol">Number of addresses</span>.</span></li>

||
|
<li class="stepexpand"><span>Select <span class="uicontrol">Allow remote system to access other networks
|
||
|
(IP forwarding)</span>. Click <span class="uicontrol">OK</span>.</span></li>
