<div><div class="section">You might want to find out if communications traces currently exist
on your server. Use the Check Communications Trace (CHKCMNTRC) command to
return the communications trace status for a specific line or network interface
description, or for all of the traces of a specific type that exist on the
server. The status is returned to you in a message.<p>To check the status
of a communications trace, follow these steps:</p>

<ol><li><span>At the command line, type <samp class="codeph">CHKCMNTRC</samp>.</span></li>
<li><span>For the <em>Configuration object</em> prompt, specify the name of
the line, such as <samp class="codeph">TRNLINE</samp>, or specify<samp class="codeph">*ALL</samp> if
you want to check the status of all traces for a specific type.</span></li>
<li><span>For the <em>Type</em> prompt, specify the type of resource, either <samp class="codeph">*LIN</samp>or <samp class="codeph">*NWI</samp>.</span></li>
