<div><p>How the PRINT key is handled for a display file with the PRINT(*PGM)

and USRDSPMGT keywords specified is determined by how the program that is

||

reading data from the display file is compiled and coded.</p>
|
||
|
|
<p>If the program is compiled with a System/36-compatible compiler (RPGII
|
||
|
|
or COBOL) and the program is coded to handle the Print key exception, the
|
||
|
|
program is given control when the Print key is pressed. If the program is
|
||
|
|
coded not to handle the Print key exception, the screen image is printed.</p>
|
||
|
|
<p>If the program is compiled with an <span class="keyword">i5/OS™</span> compiler
|
||
|
|
(RPG III, RPG IV, or COBOL), the program is always given control when the
|
||
|
|
Print key is pressed. If the program does not handle the Print key exception,
|
||
|
|
it acts as if the Enter key was pressed.</p>
