<div><p>How the user at the remote console releases control of the server.</p>
|
||
|
|
<div class="section"><p>Releasing iSeries™ control at the remote console allows control
|
||
|
|
to go back to the state that the local console was in when the first remote
|
||
|
|
console requested control.</p>
|
||
|
|
<p>For example, if the local console granted
|
||
|
|
control to the first requesting remote console, releasing control at the remote
|
||
|
|
console allows the local console to regain control. However, if control was
|
||
|
|
automatically granted to the first requesting remote console, releasing control
|
||
|
|
at the remote console allows the next requester to automatically be granted
|
||
|
|
control.</p>
|
||
|
|
<p>To release control at the remote console, do the following:</p>
|
||
|
|

<ol><li class="stepexpand"><span>Select the configuration name from the Operations Console Connection
|
||
|
|
Window.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li class="stepexpand"><span>From the <span class="uicontrol">Connection</span> menu, click <span class="uicontrol">Release
|
||
|
|
Control</span>.</span> The remote control panel window (if present)
|
||
|
|
and the console close.<p>After you release control at the remote console,
|
||
|
|
you can do the following: </p>
|
||
|
|
<ul><li>Display the remote control panel in read-only mode. To display it,
|
||
|
|
follow these steps: </li>
|
||
|
|

<ol type="a"><li><span>Select the configuration name.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li><span>From the <span class="uicontrol">Connection</span> menu, click <span class="uicontrol">Remote
|
||
|
|
Control Panel</span>.</span></li>
|
||

<ul><li>End the remote console connection to the local console. To end the
|
||
|
|
connection, follow these steps: </li>
|
||
|

<li><span>From the <span class="uicontrol">Connection</span> menu, click <span class="uicontrol">Disconnect</span>.

The connection status shows <samp class="codeph">Disconnecting</samp>.</span></li>

<li><span>Wait until the status shows <samp class="codeph">Not connected to local console</samp>.</span></li>
