<div><p>To change from an Operations Console with local console directly

||

attached to a local console on a network (LAN), follow these steps on the
|
||
|
|
server using the existing console.</p>
|
||
|
|
<ol><li class="stepexpand"><span>Access <a href="../rzamh/rzamhaccess.htm">Dedicated
|
||
|
|
Service Tools (DST) or System Service Tools (SST)</a>.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li class="stepexpand"><span>Select <span class="uicontrol">Work with DST environment</span>. You must
|
||
|
|
unlock the SST option <span class="uicontrol">Service tools device IDs</span> before
|
||
|
|
it is usable.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li class="stepexpand"><span>Select <span class="uicontrol">System Devices</span> (skip this step if
|
||
|
|
using SST).</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li class="stepexpand"><span>Select <span class="uicontrol">Select Console</span>.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li class="stepexpand"><span>Select <span class="uicontrol">Operations Console (LAN)</span>. The Verify
|
||
|
|
Operations Console Adapters window. This is the resource found by the system
|
||
|
|
to be used for your LAN connection.</span> If you get a message stating
|
||
|
|
that the LAN adapter was not found, you have not satisfied the hardware requirements
|
||
|
|
for Operations Console.</li>
|
||
|
|
<li class="stepexpand"><span>Press <span class="uicontrol">F11</span> to configure the adapter.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li class="stepexpand"><span>Enter the appropriate network data.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li class="stepexpand"><span>Press <span class="uicontrol">F7</span> to store the data.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li class="stepexpand"><span>Press <span class="uicontrol">F14</span> to activate the adapter for use
|
||
|
|
by Operations Console.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li class="stepexpand"><span>Press <span class="uicontrol">F3</span> to return to the DST main menu.</span></li>
|
||
|

console on a network when an action is taken to search for a new console.
|
||

This could include an IPL, the native macro, or the console service
|
||
|
|
function (65+21). Do NOT take an action to switch to the new console until
|
||
|
|
you have satisfied any necessary PC configurations.</p>
|
||
|
|
<p>The iSeries system
|
||
|
|
value QAUTOCFG must be set to <span class="uicontrol">ON</span>. Use one of the following
|
||
|
|
to verify or set this system value on the iSeries server:</p>
|
||
|
|
<ul><li>Use the <span class="cmdname">WRKSYSVAL QAUTOCFG</span> command.</li>
|
||
|
|
<li>During a manual IPL, in the IPL Options window, select <span class="uicontrol">Y</span> for <span class="uicontrol">Set
|
||
|
|
major system options</span>. Then, for <span class="uicontrol">Enable automatic configuration</span>,
|
||
|
|
select <span class="uicontrol">Y</span>.</li>
|
||
|
|
</ul>

<p>Continue with <a href="rzajrmigratepc.htm#migratepc">Configure
|
||
|
|
the PC to use the new console type</a>.</p>
