<div><p>When SSL initialization and handshake fails, the Telnet server
|
||
|
|
sends CPDBC <samp class="codeph">nn</samp> diagnostic messages to the QTVTELNET job.</p>
|
||
|
|
<div class="section"><p>To check the Telnet server job log, follow these steps:</p>
|
||
|
|

|
||
|
|
<ol><li><span>In iSeries™ Navigator,
|
||
|
|
expand <span class="menucascade"><span class="uicontrol">your iSeries server</span> > <span class="uicontrol">Network</span> > <span class="uicontrol">TCP/IP Configuration</span> > <span class="uicontrol">IPv4</span></span><span class="uicontrol"></span>.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li><span>Click <span class="uicontrol">Connections</span>.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li><span>Right-click the IP address of the client workstation that is failing
|
||
|
|
and select <span class="uicontrol">Jobs</span>. Note the job name.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li><span>Expand <span class="menucascade"><span class="uicontrol">Job Management</span> > <span class="uicontrol">Server
|
||
|
|
Jobs</span></span>.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li><span>Right-click <span class="uicontrol">QTVTELNET</span> in the Job name column.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li><span>Select <span class="uicontrol">Job Log</span>.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li><span>Look for the CPDBC <samp class="codeph">nn</samp> message in the Message ID
|
||
|
|
column.</span></li>
|
||
|
|

<div class="section"><p>Here are some things to remember about the Telnet server jobs:</p>
|
||
|
|
<ul><li>Only one QTVTELNET job starts when the SSL listener fails to initialize.</li>
|
||
|
|
<li>QTVDEVICE and QTVTELNET jobs start when the Telnet server starts after
|
||
|
|
the system restarts.</li>
|
||
|
|
<li>The same number of QTVTELNET and QTVDEVICE jobs start when the Telnet
|
||
|
|
server starts an SSL listener.</li>
|
||
|
|
<li>The ENDTCPSVR *TELNET or ENDTCP command ends QTVTELNET jobs.</li>
|
||
|
|
<li>When the QSYSWRK subsystem ends, the QTVDEVICE jobs end.</li>
|
||
|
|
</ul>
