<div><div class="p">The devices that you specify in a media definition must be compatible stand-alone
|
||
|
|
tape devices or tape media library devices. The tape volumes that you specify
|
||
|
|
must have compatible media formats. <div class="note"><span class="notetitle">Note:</span> Your results may depend on the device
|
||
|
|
type that you use. This is because different device types may identify different
|
||
|
|
formats for the same media. For example, one 8mm device may identify a tape
|
||
|
|
as having an FMT7GB format, while a different 8mm device might identify the
|
||
|
|
same tape as having an FMT5GB format.</div>
|
||
|
|

specifies any of the following: <ul><li>Volume identifiers</li>

<li>A sequence number</li>
|
||

<li>A save file</li>
|
||

<li>An optical file</li>

||

|
</ul>

<p>You cannot use a media definition if your server has been enabled for CD-ROM
|
||
|
|
premastering by using the <a href="../apis/qlpcdinf.htm">Handle CD-ROM Premastering State (QlpHandleCDState) API</a>.</p>

You will receive this error message if you specify a media definition in parallel

format. </li>
|
||
|
|
<li>A media definition cannot be used to restore a list of libraries or generic
|
||
|
|
libraries. </li>
|
||
|
