<div><p>You can power off and power on a domain when a disk unit input/output
processor (IOP) fails. </p>
<div class="section"><h4 class="sectiontitle">Only use this procedure when directed by your service representative</h4><p>When
a disk unit IOP fails, the disk units in the IOP could become unusable, or
the server could hang. The domain is a group of hardware resources that the
system defines as being related.</p>
<p>When you are under the direction of
your service representative, perform a power off domain, the server shuts
down the failed disk unit IOP. You can replace any failed disk units without
restarting the logical partition or entire server.</p>
<p>To power off and
power on a domain, you should be working with the remote control panel. Under
the directions of your service representative, select <span class="uicontrol">function
68</span> to power off the domain and <span class="uicontrol">function 69</span> to
power on the domain.</p>
