<div><p>This information steps you through installing the required and

||

optional programs on the <span class="keyword">iSeries™</span> server. </p>
|
||
|
|
<div class="section"> <p>The following steps guide you through installing <span class="keyword">iSeries Access for Windows<sup>®</sup></span> (5722-XE1)
|
||
|
|
and optional programs on the iSeries server. You should install all required and
|
||
|
|
optional programs at this time. To determine which programs to install, see <a href="rzaijprogins.htm">Required and optional programs to install</a>.</p>
|
||
|
|

<ol><li class="stepexpand"><span>Sign off all workstation users and end all connections.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li class="stepexpand"><span>Sign on to the <span class="keyword">iSeries</span> server
|
||
|
|
with *SECOFR authority.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li class="stepexpand"><span>Load the medium containing the licensed programs on the installation
|
||
|
|
device. If the licensed programs are contained on more than one medium, you
|
||
|
|
can load any one of them.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li class="stepexpand"><span>If you are installing 5722-SS1, Option 12 (Host Servers), then
|
||
|
|
you must put the <span class="keyword">iSeries</span> server
|
||
|
|
in a restricted state. </span> To put the <span class="keyword">iSeries</span> server
|
||
|
|
in a restricted state: <ol type="a"><li><span>At the <span class="keyword">iSeries</span> command
|
||
|
|
prompt, type <samp class="codeph">CHGMSGQ QSYSOPR *BREAK SEV(60)</samp> and press Enter.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li><span>If the Display Messages display appears, press Enter. You will
|
||
|
|
return to the <span class="keyword">iSeries</span> command
|
||
|
|
prompt.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li><span>At the <span class="keyword">iSeries</span> command
|
||
|
|
prompt, type <samp class="codeph">ENDSBS *ALL *IMMED</samp> and press Enter.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li><span>The message <samp class="codeph">System ended to restricted condition</samp> appears.
|
||
|
|
Press Enter to continue.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li><span>At the <span class="keyword">iSeries</span> command
|
||
|
|
prompt, type <samp class="codeph">CHGMSGQ QSYSOPR SEV(95)</samp> and press Enter.</span></li>

<li><span>If the Display Messages display appears, press Enter. You will
|
||
|
|
return to the <span class="keyword">iSeries</span> command
|
||
|
|
prompt.</span></li>

<div class="p">The iSeries server should now be in a restricted state.<div class="note"><span class="notetitle">Note:</span> Once

you are done installing everything, you can end restricted state by starting
|
||
|
|
the controlling subsystem with the <span class="uicontrol">STRSBS</span> command,
|
||
|
|
specifying the <span class="uicontrol">Controlling Subsystem (QCLTLSBSD) </span> system
|
||
|
|
value.</div>

a list</a> in the Information Center. </li>

|
||
|
|
licensed programs that you need to install. For a list of the programs you
|
||
|

Enter to continue.</span></li>

You do not need to respond to the status display.</li>

<li>If the licensed programs that you selected are on multiple volumes, the
|
||
|
|
installation program will prompt you for a new volume. Load the next media
|
||
|
|
volume, press <samp class="codeph">G</samp>, and then press Enter. If you do not have
|
||
|
|
any additional media volumes, press <samp class="codeph">X</samp>, and then press Enter.</li>
|
||

|

Programs display. </span> <ul><li>If the installation ran successfully, you will see <samp class="codeph">Work with licensed

programs function has completed</samp>. Press F3 to return to the <span class="keyword">iSeries</span> command prompt.</li>

<li>If the installation failed, you will see <samp class="codeph">Work with licensed programs
|
||
|
|
function not complete</samp>. See <a href="../rzahc/rzahc1.htm">Install, upgrade, or delete i5/OS™ and related software</a> to determine
|

prompt. If <span class="keyword">iSeries Access for Windows</span> installed
|
||
|
|
correctly, you will receive a message that CHKPRDOPT did not detect any errors.</span></li>

the latest cumulative PTF package on the <span class="keyword">iSeries</span> server.
|
||

See <a href="rzaijptf.htm#ptf">Get and Install PTFs</a> for information installing PTFs.</span> (Note that whenever you have installed the latest cumulative package

|
and you have not installed 5722-XE1, you need to install all 5722-XE1 service
|
||
|
|
pack PTFs from the cumulative PTF package after installing 5722-XE1.) </li>
