<div><p>You can use Backup, Recovery and Media Services (BRMS) to restore
|
||
|
|
individual objects or files.</p>
|
||
|
|
<p>The primary reason for having a backup and recovery strategy and doing
|
||
|
|
regular backups is to be ready if an item needs to be restored, or if your
|
||
|
|
entire system needs to be recovered. The only way to ensure that you are fully
|
||
|
|
protected by your backup and recovery strategy is to perform a full system
|
||
|
|
save and then recover your system from that save. </p>
|
||

It is sometimes necessary for you to restore individual items on your system (for example, if a file is corrupted or accidentally deleted).</li>

When you back up your system using BRMS, information about each
|
||
|
|
backed up item is recorded in the save history. The information in the save
|
||
|
|
history is used to create a <span class="uicontrol">recovery report</span>, which
|
||
|
|
steps you through a full system recovery. Should your system fail or a disaster
|
||
|
|
occur, you can use the recovery report to recover your system to the point
|
||
|
|
it was at before the failure.</li>
