<div><p>Situations can arise that require specific program temporary fixes

||

(PTFs) before you can install a new release.</p>
|
||
|
|
<div class="section"> <p> Before you can install V5R4, you must temporarily
|
||
|
|
apply PTFs from the <em>Prepare for install PTFs for V5R1, V5R2, and V5R3</em>,
|
||
|
|
SK3T-8163, CD-ROM to be able to accept online software agreements for V5R4 licensed
|
||
|
|
programs and to allocate additional space needed for V5R4.</p>
|
||
|
|
<div class="note"><span class="notetitle">Important:</span> You need to accept the licensed agreements for Licensed Internal
|
||
|
|
Code and the operating system before you can upgrade. If you do not accept
|
||
|
|
the agreements, the installation of Licensed Internal Code will not be allowed
|
||
|
|
to continue.</div>
|
||
|
|
<p>The <em>Prepare for install PTFs for V5R1,
|
||
|
|
V5R2, and V5R3</em> CD-ROM is included with your V5R4 software media. You need
|
||
|
|
to temporarily apply the appropriate PTF to the current release before you
|
||
|
|
upgrade. </p>
|
||
|
|
<p>To install the prepare for install PTFs for V5R2
|
||
|
|
and V5R3, follow these steps:</p>
|
||
|
|

for V5R1, V5R2, and V5R3</em>. </span></li>

||

<li class="stepexpand"><span>Load the CD-ROM in the optical device.</span></li>

MF36329, and MF36330; 5722SS1 SI18930 and its associated PTF

V5R3, the server applies 5722999 MF33150, MF36276, and MF36280; 5722SS1 SI19058
|
||
|

and SI14190 along with its associated PTF for the installed national languages
|
||
|

for your current release.</p>

might need to perform an initial program load (IPL) of the system after you

install PTFs MF36351 or MF36276. Check the status of these PTFs to verify
|
||
|
|
whether you need to perform an IPL.</div>
