<div><p>Scanning can occur for a variety of reasons. Here is some information

|

about when and why a scan might occur.</p>
|
||
|

<p>To see the current scan status and attribute of an object, you can use
|
||
|
|
the <span class="cmdname">Work with Object Links (WRKLNK)</span> command, the <span class="cmdname"><img src="./delta.gif" alt="Start of change" />Display Object Links (DSPLNK)<img src="./deltaend.gif" alt="End of change" /></span> command, the <span class="apiname">Get
|
||
|
|
attributes (Qp0lGetAttr())</span> API, or the Properties page in iSeries™ Navigator.</p>

A scan would occur if the object is accessed after an object has changed or has been modified.</li>
|
||
|
|
<li class="ulchildlink"><strong><a href="rzaaxssigchg.htm">Signature change</a></strong><br />
|
||
|
|
A scan would occur when the object is accessed if the global signature is different from the object's signature.</li>
|
||
|
|
<li class="ulchildlink"><strong><a href="rzaaxsdccsid.htm">Different CCSID</a></strong><br />
|
||
|
|
<span>If an object is accessed with a different
|
||
|
|
coded character set identifier (CCSID) than was previously scanned
|
||
|
|
for that object, a scan would be triggered.</span></li>

This provides yet another example of when a scan might occur. A scan can be requested when an object is saved.</li>

|
||
|

Lastly, a scan can be requested if the SCANFS parameter on the <span class="cmdname">Check
|
||
|
|
Object Integrity (CHKOBJITG)</span> command is specified with a value of
|
||
|
|
*YES.</li>

||
