values:</p>
<ul><li>When you specify *LCL, the file is created on the local server.</li>
<li>When you specify *RMT, the file is created on the remote server. You must
specify a DDM file on the FILE parameter.</li>
<li>When you specify *FILETYPE, if a DDM file has been specified on the FILE
parameter, a remote file is created. If a DDM file has not been specified,
a local file is created.</li>

<div class="section"><p>Consider the following items when using this command with DDM:</p>
<ul><li>The parameter FILE is the name of the DDM file that represents the remote
logical file being created. The remote file specified in the DDM file is the
logical file that is created on the remote server (which is also specified
in the DDM file).</li>
<li>The OPTION and GENLVL parameters have no effect on the remote command
sent.</li>
<li>The files specified on the PFILE or JFILE keywords in the DDS for the
logical file must be at the same server location as the logical file being
created.</li>
<li>If *JOB is specified as the value of a parameter or is in the data description
specification (DDS) for that file, the attribute of that source job is used
for file and field attributes. The attribute of the source job is also used
when the default for a file or field attribute is the job attribute.</li>
